Shiva Rajkumar’s role as Bhairathi Ranagal in Mufti will remain unforgettable in the minds of the movie buffs. The character has been etched out perfectly and Shiva Rajkumar had lived the role instead of enacting it out. According the latest buzz, the star’s next film is titled Bhairathi Ranagal and will be directed by the Mufti director Narthan. This film will be the maiden production venture of the director under his banner Shri Mutthu Cine Services. Bhairathi Ranagal will be a landmark movie in Shiva Rajkumar’s career as it will be his 125th film.

Mufti, which hit the silver screens last year, was directed by Narthan and bankrolled by Jayanna and Bhogendra under the banner Jayanna Combines. The film starred Shiva Rajkumar, Srimurali, Shanvi Srivastava, Madhu Guruswamy and Vasishta N. Simha. Ravi Basrur had composed music for this venture with Naveen Kumar wielding the camera and Harish Komme editing. It is a neo-noir action crime thriller film that had Shivanna playing the gang boss Bhairathi Ranagal. The film’s production began in 2016 and it hit the marquee on December 1st last year to a positive response.

While the groundwork for Bhairathi Ranagal has begun, Shiva Rajkumar is busy with his next release Rustum. This film is produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra under the banner Jayanna Combines as well. Shraddha Srinath has been roped in to play the female lead in it and Mayuri will be seen as Shiva Rajkumar’s sister. A romantic action entertainer, Rustum will mark the directorial debut of ace stunt master Ravi Varma.

Interestingly, in Rustum he will be playing a cop in direct contrast to his role as the gang leader Bhairathi Ranagal. Rustum is due for release on December 24 this year.
