Talks about Kannada actor-politician Ambareesh and actor Sumalatha’s son Abhishek following in the footsteps of his parents surfaced several months ago. While there were many changes to the project that he was to debut in, talks about who would wield the megaphone also stirred up interest among movie buffs.

Well, all speculations and rumours have come to an end with Abhishek’s debut film all set to go on the floors on Monday. Titled Amar, the film will be directed by Nagshekar. Abhishek is all geared up to make his acting debut and has trained in martial arts, dance and acting. Tanya Hope, a close friend of the hero, will be sharing screen space with him in the film.

On working with Abhishek in his debut film, Tanya said in a recent interview to the New Indian Express, “I have known Abhishek for a while now, and he had been talking about working on a film. I am glad to be a part of his debut launch.”

On roping in Tanya for the role, the director said, “Tanya is the next big thing in Sandalwood. I wanted somebody who could match Abhishek, who himself is very talented. I am glad to have found the right heroine opposite the actor.”

It is rumoured that star pair Ambareesh and Sumalatha will make a special appearance in their son’s debut.

To be bankrolled under the banner Sandesh Productions, the film’s technical crew comprises Arjun Janya for music, Satya Hegde cranking the camera and Sania Sardhariya designing the costumes.

It may be mentioned here that directors Pawan Wadeyar and Chethan Kumar were initially in talks to direct the film but they eventually opted out due to date clashes and Nagshekar was roped in. He has films such as Myna, Sanju Weds Geetha and Aramane to his credit till date.
