Silambarasan shoots for his portions in Hansika's 'Maha'

Simbu and Hansika were last seen in 'Vaalu', which was helmed by Vijay Chander and released in 2015.

Almost six years, actors Silambarasan aka STR and Hansika Motwani are back together for a film. Titled Maha, in the film Hansika will be seen as the main lead.  While STR will be seen doing a cameo in the film, the latest is that he has shot for two days in Goa and the makers even released a picture from the sets.

According to sources, STR will have a screen time of 30-40 minutes and he will be seen playing a pilot in the film. He will feature in a song and an action sequence.

Wielding the megaphone for this venture will be UR Jameel, a debutant a former associate of director Lakshman, who has directed films such as Romeo and Juliet and Bogan.

Talking to  DT Next, director Jameel said, “STR came to the shooting spot a couple of hours early and was helping the entire crew. It was fun to work with him, as he is someone who understands the director’s vision and gives us more than what we expect. Both of them are thorough professionals, as they didn’t let their personal life to affect work."

It may be noted Simbu and Hansika were last seen in Vaalu, which was helmed by Vijay Chander and released in 2015. The technical crew of Maha includes Ghibran for music, Madhan Karky for lyrics and camera by Laxman.  

Meanwhile, last seen in Vandha Rajavathan Varuven the remake of Telugu blockbuster Attarintinki Daredi STR has a slew of films up for release. He will begin shooting for the Tamil remake of Kannada blockbuster Mufti from next month onwards.

This project, to be directed by Narthan, also stars Gautham Karthik and will be bankrolled by Studio Green. STR will be seen playing the underworld boss and Gautham Karthik will don khaki for the first time in the role of a police officer.  

He also has Maanadu much awaited political thriller directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi. The film will also star Kalyani Priyadarshan as the leading lady. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalised shortly.  According to the industry grapevine, Maanaadu is finally expected to start rolling from June 21.
