Director PS Mithran made a big splash earlier this year with Vishal’s Irumbu Thirai, which also featured Arjun and Samantha Akkineni in crucial roles. Months after the film’s release, it has finally been confirmed that Mithran will next team up with Sivakarthikeyan in 24 AM Studios production. The yet-untitled project is currently being dubbed as SK 15. On Friday, 24 AM Studios took to Twitter to officially announce the project which will also star Arjun, who played the antagonist in Irumbu Thirai, in a crucial role. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to compose music while George Williams will crank the camera.

In September, talking to Times of India, Mithran said that he and Siva had worked on a short film and have been planning to work together for a while. Apparently, they were even supposed to work on a project even before Irumbu Thirai. “I’d written a story for him long ago, and we were supposed to do a film even before Irumbu Thirai released, sometime in 2017. After the release of my film, we met and decided to work together. This project will be a racy thriller. That’s how I’ve planned it for now. Just like Irumbu Thirai, this film will also have a social message,” Mithran said.

If everything goes as planned, the shooting will commence next year. Siva is currently juggling between two projects – a yet-untitled comedy with director M Rajesh and a science-fiction film with Ravi Kumar. Both these projects are expected to be wrapped up by this year-end. According to a source close to Siva, his project with Mithran will roll after Pongal 2019. “Right now, Siva is simultaneously working on two projects and it’s taking a toll on him. Not just physically, but mentally as well. He’s never worked on two projects at the same time.  He wants to work on Mithran’s project with no other commitment to worry about,” the source said.
