Omar Lulu’s Oru Adaar Love that released for Valentine's Day and has received a lot of negative reviews, is going to have a new climax. The director told Asianet News that many who liked the movie had a problem with the climax. The new climax that is ten minutes long has been shot and the whole movie had been edited to keep it at the same duration. The newer version will be screened in theatres from Wednesday afternoon.

“The film had a realistic climax. But our audience is not able to take it. Many people called to say this opinion. The producer too opined that it could be reshot,” Omar told Asianet News.

The movie, which is set in a school, shows teenage romance and friendships. It has been in the news ever since a song featuring two young actors winking and raising brows at each other became viral. Priya Prakash Varrier, who winked, became more popular than Roshan who raises his brows one after the other in response. Another girl Noorin Sheriff plays a more prominent role than Priya.

Omar said that it is the anger towards Priya that made some people "degrade" the movie even before its release. Priya and Omar had run into controversy when various religious groups had raised objections against the song 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi' which showed the wink and the raising of the brow, for allegedly hurting Islamic sentiments. An FIR was filed against Priya and Omar at a Hyderabad police station, and a complaint was also filed in Maharashtra, following which the actor and the director moved the Supreme Court. The top court had, however, ruled in their favour and quashed the criminal proceedings.

Omar perhaps believes it is the same people who have given negative reviews to his movie. Even those who liked the movie couldn’t admit it because of his tragic climax, he claims. “The first two movies I made (Happy Wedding and Chunkzz) were full of comedy. From a man who has made such movies before, the audience do not expect a climax like this (in Oru Adaar Love).”

The edited version will also have Gopi Sunder's background score at several places in the film.
