The project will be bankrolled by Studio Green K.E.Gnanavel Raja and interestingly, Siva's debut Tamil film, Siruthai was bankrolled by the same banner. Studio Green is one of the most successful production houses in Kollywood, and their first production was Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, starring Suriya, Jyothika and Bhumika Chawla in the lead roles.
Other hit movies from his banner include Paruthiveeran, Singam, Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, Iraivi and Suriya's Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Arya's Ghajinikanth, and Vijay Deverakond's NOTA which got released in Tamil and Telugu.
On Sunday, the production house announced via a tweet that it has roped in actors Simbu and Gautham Karthik for a mega budget action thriller which will be directed by debutant Narthan. The interesting update is that this project is the official remake of the recent Kannada blockbuster Mufti, which starred Shivrajkumar, Murali, Shanvi Srivastav and Chaya Singh.
Suriya is currently shooting for director Sudha Kongara's venture titled Soorarai Potru. The film went on floors recently and is co-produced by Guneet Monga in association with 2D Entertainment. The actor recently wrapped up KV Anand's Kaappan, which is touted to be an action-thriller and co-stars Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. Mohanlal plays the Indian Prime Minister, while Arya plays his son. The film is being bankrolled by A Subashkaran on a huge budget under his banner Lyca Productions and has been scripted jointly by director KV Anand and veteran writer Pattukottai Prabhakar.
Meanwhile, Suriya's first venture with Selvaraghavan titled NGK – Nandha Gopala Krishnan - is slated for release on 31 May 2019. Touted to be a political thriller, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Yuvan and Selvaraghavan are a successful combination and the two coming together has aroused curiosity. Being produced by S. R. Prakashbabu & S. R. Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures, the film has been made on a lavish budget.
