Kollywood actor Jai will be making his debut in the Malayalam film industry with the Mammootty starrer MaduraRaja. He is currently shooting for his portions in the film and is very much excited to share screen space with the legendary actor Mammooty.

On working with him, Jai has said in an interview to the Deccan Chronicle, “After my debut movie Bhagavathy, where I played the younger brother of Vijay, I am essaying the role of Mammootty sir’s brother in the Malayalam movie. It’s a story where both of us go from Madurai to Kerala and we speak Tamil only. While shooting, it reminded me of Subramaniapuram, which was set in Madurai. Mammootty sir is so down to earth. The movie is also close to my heart.”

MaduraRaja is an action-packed entertainer that is directed by Vysakh. He has written the script, in association with Uday Krishna.  The first look and motion poster of MaduraRaja was released recently. Mammootty looks energetic and his style in the film is something to watch out for.

The first schedule of shooting has been wrapped up successfully and the second schedule is currently on. The team will be wrapping up the entire shooting with the third schedule after which the post production will begin. MaduraRaja is touted to be a Vishu release this year though there is no official word on it.

The film is a sequel to the hit 2010 film Pokkiri Raja which was directed was Vysakh and starred Mammootty and Prithviraj in the lead. The latter is expected to be seen in a cameo role in MaduraRaja. The technical crew of the film includes Gopi Sunder for music, Shaji Kumar for cinematography and John Kutty for editing. In supporting roles are actors Siddique, Aju Varghese, Anna Rajan, Anusree, Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Salim Kumar, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Bala, Bijukuttan and Manikuttan.
