A technician working on the sets of Thalapathy 63, Vijay’s yet-to-be titled film with director Atlee met with an accident and had to be taken to the hospital. The incident occurred on Tuesday night at a set erected in Chennai’s Tiruvallur area.

According to reports, a focus light fell from a height of 100-ft onto electrician Selvaraj who was standing right beneath it. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital nearby.

Actor Vijay visited the hospital on Wednesday where Selvaraj was admitted. It was recently announced that the team was filming crucial football portion in EVP Studios in a specially erected football stadium set worth around Rs 6 crore, therefore the incident could have happened here.

According to reports, the makers had originally planned to shoot in a real football stadium. however, it was turning out to be a very expensive affair. The makers then decided to build a set where they will shoot for over 50 days over the course of the next two months.

The film that is touted to be a sports drama is being shot in and around Chennai. In March this year, a huge set was erected in North Madras’ Kasimedu area where a sequence was filmed during the night for two days. Thalapathy 63 is being produced by AGS Entertainment.

It was also rumoured that the opening song in the film will see the actor dance with a hundred children.

Vijay was reportedly recently trained by a specialist physical trainer to prepare for his role. 16 women will star as sports players in the film, which also stars Kathir, Yogi Babu and Vivek in crucial roles.

Actor Nayanthara has been brought on board who will be seen together with Vijay after a very long gap.

While Varsha Bollamma, Devadarshini, Jackie Sheroff and Kathir have joined the cast, rumours are abound that actor Shah Rukh Khan too may be a part of it. The film is gearing up for Deepavali release this year.
