"I was only ten years old when India won the 1983 World Cup. That's when my journey began. I too wanted to hold the World Cup in my hands," says Sachin Tendulkar in the trailer of his biopic ‘Sachin A Billion Dreams’, which was released on Thursday.

The hugely anticipated biopic captures the life and career of the cricketing legend starting from his childhood days.

At the launch of the trailer in Mumbai, he said that the film unveils a "different" side of his personality.

He said that though a private person, he has now learnt how to share certain things of his life as his fans want to know more about him.

"Yes, I am a private person but learnt to share insight of my life for my fans. They are curious to know. So, in this film I tried to share information about me with my fans by finding a middle path where I am comfortable to share and they also get to know about me," the cricket maestro said.

With a plethora of records to his name, including the unique feat of scoring a century of international hundreds, Sachin is one of the most celebrated cricketers of the modern era.

Fans would no doubt be looking forward to the release of the film now that the trailer is out.

Speaking about his biopic last year, Sachin had said that he found acting more challenging than playing cricket

"For so many years, I did whatever I wanted to do and the camera captured that. Suddenly I was asked to do particular things and then the camera captured that, so it was a bit different for me. Believe me, the first option was better," he said.

"Acting is not something that I dreamt of. Without any doubt, acting was more challenging than playing cricket. I enjoyed playing more," he added.

The film has been directed by James Erskine. Produced by Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures, it has music by AR Rahman.

The film is slated to release on May 26.
