The Parvathy starrer Uyare is gearing up for release on April 26th. So is Dulquer Salmaan’s Oru Yamandan Premakatha.

Uyare is directed by Manu Ashok, who has worked as an associate of the late filmmaker Rajesh Pillai. The film, scripted by Sanjay and Bobby, is about a woman pilot and acid attack survivor, played by Parvathy. It is bankrolled by Shegna, Sherga and Shenuga, the daughters of producer PV Gangadharan, under the banner Grihalakshmi Films.

The music for Uyare is composed by Gopi Sunder, and the editing is by Mahesh Narayan who directed Parvathy’s much-appreciated film Take Off. Director Manu’s wife Shreya is the film’s costume designer.

The first look poster of Uyare was earlier released, introducing Parvathy’s character as Pallavi. The film also has Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas in pivotal roles with Anarkali Marakkar and Samyuktha Menon playing supporting characters.

The other release this week – Dulquer’s Oru Yamandan Premakatha – is touted to be a comedy entertainer. The film has Samyuktha Menon and Nikhila Vimal sharing screen space with the lead star besides a host of other actors such as Salim Kumar, Soubin Shahir, Hareesh Kanaran, Dharmajan, Bibin and Vishnu Unnikrishnan in pivotal and supporting roles. Debut director BC Noufal is wielding the megaphone for this venture with Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George penning the script. The film is being bankrolled by Anto Joseph under his banner.

The film will bring Dulquer Salmaan back into the Malayalam film industry after a two-year gap. He reportedly took up the offer after the director impressed him with the strong storyline, we hear. Dulquer had been busy with films in other languages – making his debut in Hindi with Karwaan, another with Sonam Kapoor called The Zoya Factor too about to release this year.

Parvathy too had made her Hindi debut opposite Irrfan Khan in Qarib Qarib Singlle in 2017.
