Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar has been very selective of her projects and consequentially has bagged some of the best acting assignments last year. She has a number of projects lined up needing her attention and among it will be Danny.
Confirming that she is onboard, Varalaxmi had tweeted: “First day of shoot for a new film #Danny..gonna be working with a doggie for the first time should be fun..woohoo fun Dir: Santhanamoorthy. The film will be directed by Santhana Moorthy and produced by PG Muthiah and M Deepa. Santhosh Dayanidhi will be composing the tunes for this flick with Anand Kumar cranking the camera and Fazil editing it.

Varalaxmi has had a very successful year at the box office with all her films doing well. She was seen in pivotal roles in the Vijay starrer Sarkar, Dhanush’s Maari 2 and Vishal’s Sandakozhi 2. Incidentally, she had a character with shades of gray in Sandakozhi 2 which fetched her positive reviews in addition to her very first Vikatan Awards
Currently, Varalaxmi has movies like Velvet Nagaram, Kanni Raasi, Neeya 2 and Ammayi in various stages of production. Her last release Maari 2 in which she was seen in a different role was well appreciated by the critics.
Velvet Nagaram is a psychological thriller film that has Varu in the lead role. The film is directed by Manojkumar Natarajan and bankrolled by Arun Karthik under his banner Makers Studios.
Kanni Rasi is a rom-com that has been directed by Muthukumaran and produced by Shameem Ibraham. Ammayi is also a Tamil film that is being directed by G Shankar. The film has Vinay Rai playing the lead role with actor Poorna playing one of the female leads. Maestro Ilayaraja is composing the tunes for this flick.
All these films are touted to make it to the silver screens this year.
