Hit Malayalam film, Ustad Hotel, starring Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menen, is all set to be remade in Kannada. While Vedhika has been roped in to reprise Nithya Menen’s role, newbie Rachan Chandra will be stepping into Dulquer Salman’s shoes. Pon Kumaran will be wielding the megaphone for this remake, which has been titled Gowdru Hotel

Vedhika’s last outing in Sandalwood was Shivalinga, in which she paired up with the Kannada icon Shivarajkumar. Despite the success of the film released early last year, there had been no further news about Vedhika in the Kannada industry till now. Asked about this, the actress said that her commitments in Kollywood and Mollywood kept her from signing up new Kannada projects. She is now happy to have bagged the role in Gowdru Hotel.

Speaking to The Times of India, Vedhika had said, “Director Kumar sir is making a few changes to the script to suit Kannada audiences, one of which is that my role is being extended in our version. The crux of Ustad Hotel was the emotional connect between a grandfather (Thilakan) and grandson (Dulquer), which will be the major plotline of this film as well, with Prakash Raj playing Thilakan's role.”

Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for the film.
