Vijay Deverakonda injured while shooting for 'Dear Comrade'

The actor fell down while trying to board a running train as part of the movie shoot.

The shooting of Dear Comrade had to be stalled following an injury to its lead star Vijay Deverakonda. The star was shooting for a scene in Kakinada when he suffered minor injuries and has been advised complete rest. The Dear Comrade team was shooting a scene in which Vijay was required to board a running train. Unfortunately, he lost grip and fell but was saved immediately by the crew from being run over by the train. What would have been a major accident ended with some minor injuries to Vijay Deverakonda. Following this, the shooting was cancelled. He took to Twitter to post, “Met prediction - Cyclonic winds and Rough Sea. Me - Shoot Cancelled & Chillll (sic).”

Vijay Deverakonda will be playing a student leader with communist background in this flick while Rashmika Mandanna will be seen as a cricketer playing for Telangana state. Sources in the know say that Rashmika is trying hard to get into the skin of the character by learning the nuances of cricket. She underwent special training hard at the cricket club in Hyderabad before the shoot began.

Directed by Bharat Kamma, Dear Comrade is reportedly inspired from the Mollywood movie Comrade in America. It had Dulquer Salman playing the lead role. Dear Comrade is being produced by Y. Naveen, Y. Ravi Shankar and C. V. Mohan under the banner Mythri Movie Makers. Touted to be a summer 2019 release, this film will be released in Tamil and Hindi as well apart from Telugu.

Vijay Deverakonda shot to limelight with the Telugu flick Arjun Reddy which won him critical acclaim and awards. This movie is currently being remade in Hindi and Tamil. He topped up the success with films like Geetha Govindam and Taxiwala this year which were big box office hits.
