Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming flick Dear Comrade is all set to hit screens on July 26, confirm sources. Earlier, the plan was to release the film this summer but the maker decided to postpone so that it will reach a wider section of the audiences. Dear Comrade, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, will be released in all four south Indian languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Considering the universal appeal of the subject, the Dear Comrade team has decided to release it in multiple languages.

Vijay Deverakonda will be playing a student leader with communist background in this flick while Rashmika Mandanna will be seen as a cricketer playing for Telangana state. Sources in the know say that Rashmika is trying hard to get into the skin of the character by learning the nuances of cricket. She underwent special training hard at the cricket club in Hyderabad before the shoot began.

Directed by Bharat Kamma, Dear Comrade is reportedly inspired from the Mollywood movie Comrade in America. It had Dulquer Salman playing the lead role. Dear Comrade is being produced by Y. Naveen, Y. Ravi Shankar and C. V. Mohan under the banner Mythri Movie Makers.

The plan earlier was to release Dear Comrade during the end of May but the filmmakers decided to put off the release by a few weeks so that it will not have to clash with the Surya starrer NGK.

With the official word out that Dear Comrade will hit the marquee on July 26, Vijay Deverakonda’s fans are waiting eagerly for it.

Vijay Deverakonda shot to limelight with the grand success of the Telugu flick Arjun Reddy which won him critical acclaim and awards. He topped up the success with films like Geetha Govindam and Taxiwala last year which were big box office hits.
