Vijay’s 'Mersal' to release in over 350 screens in Kerala

Leading distribution house, Global United Media, has bagged the Kerala distribution rights of the film.

It is well known that the Tamil star Vijay has a huge fan base in Kerala and his films get a rousing reception there as well, as in Tamil Nadu. With his Mersal getting ready for a Diwali release, fans in Kerala are expectant. Well, it is now confirmed that Mersal will release in over 350 screens in the state.

Leading distribution house, Global United Media, has bagged the Kerala distribution rights of the film and has mega plans to make it a humongous release. Incidentally, the production house had distributed films like Baahubali: The Conclusion in around 320 screens and Ajith’s Vivegam in 309 screens. With Mersal touted to get 350 screens, movie buffs are elated.

Made on a budget of Rs 130 crores, the film has been produced by N Ramasamy, Hema Rukmani, R Mahendran and H Murali under the banner Thenandal Studio Limited. The film’s distribution rights for various areas, sold out like hot cakes even before the shooting was wrapped up.

Directed by Atlee, the film has been scripted by Atlee, KV Vijayendra Prasad and S Ramana Girivasan. While the story was penned by Atlee and KV Vijayendra Prasad, the dialogues were written by Atlee and S Ramana Girivasan.

Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman has set the tunes for this film with GK Vasan cranking the camera and Ruben in charge of the editing.

Vijay plays the lead role in the movie and he will be appearing in three different getups. Sharing the screen space with him as his leading ladies are Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Agarwal, and Nithya Menen. Others in the star cast include SJ Surya, Vadivelu, Sathyaraj, Kovai Sarala and Motta Rajendran.

Mersal will be out at the theatres on October 18 worldwide.
