The trailer of Sindhubaadh, Vijay Sethupathi’s third film with director SU Arun Kumar, who has given the audience films such as Pannaiyaraum Padminiyum and Sethupathi, was released on Sunday.

In the trailer, Vijay Sethupathi and his son Surya can be seen playing the roles of slick pickpockets. In the next clip, Vijay Sethupathi is seen scrunching his eyebrows and pursing his lips - supposedly his romantic look - but has its desired effect of bringing a smile to our face. Actor Anjali’s character, too, does have a similar effect on the audience.

His character is hard of hearing and we get a fair idea of the laughter this might evoke in theatres. Anjali’s character has a quirky trait - she’s what you might jokingly refer to as a loudspeaker. We have all got those friends who can never keep it down.

Just like the director told TNM in an interview, there’s plenty of action, too. The trailer gets serious after a minute and we’re told the villain, who has no vices, is a ‘psycho’.

Vijay Sethupathi and his son’s characters run for their lives and the trailer ends with Anjali’s character telling Vijay Sethupath,  “No, it’s not enough. Hit him!”

The film has been produced by SN Rajarajan and Shan Sutharsan under the banner of K Productions. The film’s teaser, which released in March this year, was well received by fans. The film has been set in different locations, including Tenkasi and Malaysia, and has several high octane action scenes in its second half.

The film’s music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja with DoP by Vijay Karthik Kannan and editing by Ruben.

Vijay Sethupathi who was last seen playing Shilpa in Super Deluxe has Marconi Mathai, directed by Sanil Kalathil, along with Jayaram up for release in Malayalam. With nearly half a dozen projects in the making, Sethupathi has taken time out to don the hat of a writer for upcoming Tamil comedy Chennai Palani Mars, which will be directed by Biju Vishwanath and produced by Vijay himself under the banner of Vijay Sethupathi Productions.

Sindhubaadh will hit the screens on June 21.
