“Have you seen the ocean? Have you experienced its depth? I will show you around.” This is how the trailer of an upcoming Malayalam short film “Happy New Year” that deals with child sexual abuse begins.

The film featuring South Indian superstar Mohanlal speaks of how society as a whole needs to exert more caution when it comes to the safety of our children.

The 1 minute-40 second video trailer released on Monday sends across a strong message that child abuse is no different from the "murder of a young spirit."

Directed by TR Ratheesh, the short film is about the lives of two children -a boy and a girl- who desperately tries to hide from their abusers.

Produced by Diljith KN and Athira Diljith, the trailer also features a number of actors pledging their support to Lalettan in his fight against child abuse.
