Yogi Babu's next titled 'Mandela', first-look out

The film will be produced by Director Balaji Mohan's new production house Open Window and Y Not Studios.

Director Balaji Mohan of Maari fame who recently helmed the sequel has turned producer and announced his production house - Open Window. Their first project would be helmed by debutant director Madonne Ashwin and the film has been titled Mandela. This film will have Yogi Babu playing the lead role.

Balaji Mohan took it to twitter announcing the project," Here’s the Title Poster of our First Feature Film Production #MANDELA!An @OpenWindowOffl Production! So Happy to collaborate with @StudiosYNot @RelianceEnt & @Wishberry_in @sash041075 @chakdyn Written & Directed by Debutant @madonneashwin Starring @iYogiBabu & others!"

To be bankrolled by Y Not Studios along with Open Windows the film will have cinematography by Vidhu Ayyanna and editing will be handled by Philomin Raj. The film features music by Bharath Sankar.

Balaji Mohan's last release was Maari 2, which is the sequel to the hit 2015 film Maari. The film released last year and got a big opening at the box office. Balaji Mohan made his debut with Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi in 2012, and later made Vaaya Moodi Pesuvom, Love Failure in Telugu, and Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram in Malayalam.

On the other hand, Yogi Babu has a slew of films in his kitty. The comedian-turned-hero had two of his films Dharmaprabhu and Ghurka released recently. He will also be seen in biggies like Vijay’s Bigil, Petromax, Sivakarthikeyan's film with Pandiraj, Jyothika’s Jackpot, and many other movies.

After playing Lord Yama in the Tamil film Dharmaprabhu, he played a key role in the recently released Tamil film, Gurkha. Directed by Sam Anton, the supporting cast includes Anand Raj, Livingstone, Manobala, Charlie and Mayilsami. Raj Aryan has composed music and Krishnan Vasanth has handled cinematography. The film was produced by Anton and friends under the banner Four Monkeys.
