After French DJ David Guetta’s Bengaluru concert was cancelled, the Bengaluru police was blamed for being cavalier in granting permission. Now, the police have decided to send a legal notice to the organisers, Sunburn.

The police will send a legal notice to the organisers for allegedly “misinforming the public”, “showing the city in a poor light” and “showcasing the police in poor light for their lack of following the protocol” as per a report by Bala Chauhan in the Deccan Chronicle.

On January 12, the concert was cancelled just hours prior to the event after the organisers failed to get the mandatory police permission.

City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood told DC that there was propaganda against the city and the police even though the event was not even being held in the city. He added that the police did not have any knowledge about the concert and became aware of it much later.  

Bengaluru Rural SP Amit Singh said that if a crowd of 20,000 was expected for the concert, then ‘Sunburn’ should have taken prior police permission to ensure crowd safety, the report adds.

Seemanth Singh, IGP (Central Range) said: "We are going to issue a legal notice to the organisers to ask them to explain why they didn't seek police permission much ahead of the concert and why they have shown the police in poor light. They approached us only on January 10, while the tickets for the concert were sold much ahead and Bengaluru was mentioned as the venue." “They should have shown the correct venue. Why did they misinform the public?
