Did Huccha Venkat bang his head against the bars of his jail cell?

Written by : TNM Staff

Jail authorities on Monday denied media reports which claimed that Huccha Venkat injured himself banging his head against his cell bars last week.

Controversial Kannada film actor Huccha Venkat had again made into news after TV9 reported on Sunday that he injured his head after banging his head against the bars of his cell on Saturday night. TV9 had reported that he had injured himself in such a manner as he was sure nobody would facilitate his bail.

However, on Monday Krishna Kumar, Jail Superintendent of Bangalore Central Prison told The News Minute, “No such thing has happened. It’s false (news).”

Police had arrested controversial Kannada actor Huccha Venkat on November 19 in Bangalore for making allegedly derogatory comments against Dr B R Ambedkar.

He had allegedly used the term "nan yekkada" meaning equal to my chappal (footwear)’ for describing Ambedkar during a televised interview with Kannada news channel BTV on November 16.

However, this wasn’t the first time that he was part of a controversy.

Venkat was recently in the news over his alleged assault on a Bigg Boss Kannada contestant.

He first caught the attention of the public in February 2014, after he placed ads in leading newspapers declaring his wish to marry popular Kannada actor Ramya by force, which led to his arrest.

Later in the year, he became a subject of many spoofs after he publicly vented his frustration over failing to receive appreciation for his film titled 'Huccha Venkat'.
