In his typically gruff style, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave a piece of his mind on the beef controversy when reporters sought his views.

Speaking to journalists after a programme organized by the Bengaluru unit of Youth Congress Siddaramaiah said: “I have not eaten go-maamsa (cow-meat) until today, (but) who are you to ask me whether I have or not?”

He also said that incidents of communal violence such as the Dadri lynching and atrocities against Dalits had risen during the BJP-led government at the centre.
