Images: Karnataka bandh brings life in Bengaluru to a halt

State buses are not operating. Schools and hotels are closed.

With Karnataka observing a near-total bandh on Saturday, life in Bengaluru, as in several other parts of the state, has come to a halt.

Roads are empty, buses and most auto-rickshaws are not plying, while medical stores are open. Petrol stations are open at some places. Ola and Uber taxis are mostly down.

The bandh has been called over the verdict of the Mahadayi Water Dispute Tribunal’s interim order against releasing water to Karnataka.

Here are some pictures from across the city.
