The News Minute| July 2,2014| 7.00 am ISTBad monsoon, drying reservoirs and people stealing power - Karnataka's power crisis is set to worsen and Power Minister has only one solution, Pray to God. That's exactly what Power Minister D K Shivkumar told the assembly on Tuesday, "Pray for rain, only God can save us."With water in three hydel power-generation reservoirs of Linganamakki, Supa and Mani at about 40 per cent, only a good monsoon can change the situation, the minister added.Last year 124 taluks were declared drought hit in the state, this year the number could go upto 150, the minister said. Realisation of power from hydel projects in Karnataka is just 32%, while it is 80% from thermal power plants.
