A week after returning from the Rio Olympics, marathon runner OP Jaisha tested positive for swine flu also known as H1N1 virus on Thursday.

According to reports, 33-year-old Jaisha, the second athlete to have tested positive for the virus, has been admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru.

Earlier this week, Sudha Singh who trained with Jaisha was tested positive for type A influenza strain, after Zika virus was ruled out.

Doctor S R Sarala, senior scientific officer of the Sports Authority of India, told NDTV that Jaisha was doing alright but was admitted for observation.

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD) Director Shashidhar Buggi told Sportstar: “Although her symptoms were mild, we had started her on Tamiflu, the anti-viral drug for treatment of H1N1.”

On returning from Rio, Jaisha had alleged that officials were not present to provide her with water and refreshments during the marathon, as a result of which, she collapsed post the 43km marathon.
