Seer reportedly flees after being accused of raping minor

The News Minute | November 17, 2014 | 3.05 pm ISTThe seer of a Mutt in Karnataka has reportedly fled after a complaint was lodged with the local police accusing him of sexually assaulting a child.Somashekar Shivacharya Swami of the Kambaleshwar Mutt in Chittapura, Kalburgi district in north Karnataka has been accused of raping an 11-year-old girl. A group of local people filed a complaint against him and even protested on Sunday in front of the Tahildar’s office demanding his arrest. The seer has reportedly fled. A case has been registered with the Chittapura police.
