Days after her remarks about the RSS and the freedom struggle, photoshopped images of Congress leader Ramya participating in the freedom struggle are circulating online.

Edited pictures of the former MP from Mandya walking with freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhai Patel and Jawaharlal Nehru etc, are doing the rounds on social media and WhatsApp.

Ramya however, was born in 1982 and became the youngest member of Parliament when she won the by-election from Mandya in August 2013. She lost the May 2014 general election for the same constituency to CS Puttaraj of the JD(S).

The actor-turned politician had recently said in Mandya that the BJP and RSS were not a part of the Indian freedom struggle. This was days after she drew flak for her comments on Pakistan after her return to India from Islamabad where she attended the SAARC Young Parliamentarians Conference.

“Actually if you see, Congress was the reason for India getting its Independence. BJP, RSS did not participate in the freedom struggle. They sided with the British,” she said.

Ramya, however, appears to have taken the images lightly. She tweeted on Thursday.
