A video of a live rat inside one of the sweet counters at a Vasudev Adiga's outlet in Bengaluru has gone viral.

In the 44-second video seemingly shot by a customer, a rat can be seen sitting on top of one of the four sweets platters at the counter. The rat runs over all the four platters before jumping on to the lower shelf.

The video, uploaded by a Facebook user on August 28 claims that it was shot at Adiga's outlet in Malleswaram and has been shared over 3,000 times so far.

At the time of writing, the video has been viewed over 92,000 times.

However, some users expressed doubts over the location of the eatery, with some saying that the video could have been shot at Bannerghatta road branch.

Jacob Kurien, MD of Vasudev Adigas Fast Food Ltd, told The News Minute that no such case was reported from the branches owned and operated by the group. He said that the Malleshwaram outlet does not belong to the group.

When asked about media reports that state that the video was indeed shot at the branch in Bannerghatta road, Jacob said:

“We spoke to a person who ostensibly took the video and he claimed it was at Malleswaram. The video I saw is inconclusive regarding its location.”

In December 2015, a customer took to Facebook saying that she found rat-poop in Bisibele bath bought from Vasudev Adiga's outlet on Church Street. Adigas received much flak online for this incident. The eatery resumed operations after they shut the outlet for clean-up.

Adigas group marketing manager Prasad maintained that the management has been taking measures to ensure hygiene at all their branches after rat-poop was found in a dish served at their Church street outlet.
