Following the allegations levelled against DGP Satyanarayana Rao, in her explosive letter, DIF Roopa said that a few officials in her own department were trying to destroy the evidence she had collected during her inspection.

“I had recorded video proof in a handy cam regarding my claims of Sasikala getting special treatment. But this video has been destroyed by some officials,” she said.

Refuting the claims of DGP Satyanarayana Rao that she had not at all visited the prison, she said that she had recorded the video with a handy cam, which she had borrowed from one of the prison officials in Parappana Agrahara during her visit on July 10.

“I had handed over the camera to the office and asked one of the officials to download the videos from the camera and load it onto a pen drive. I received the handy cam but there were no videos in it,” she added.

DIG Roopa said that the video had evidence of special treatment meted out to Sasikala.

“There are more irregularities, which I will share in my next letter to the Chief Secretary. Sasikala also has a separate space to meet visitors,” she said.

However, reacting to the statement, DGP Satyanarayana Rao had recommended that DIG Roopa be removed from the department.

According to an article by Deccan Chronicle, DIG Roopa Moudgil's report on the alleged irregularities at Parappana Agrahara central prison and corruption charges against Satyanarayana and other officers, led the DGP to write to the government, asking for a probe and also to remove Roopa from the department.
