In May 2013, news of a squabble between popular anchor Ranjini Haridas and a passenger at the Nedumbassery airport in Kerala had made headlines. Three years later, the Kerala High Court has quashed the case filed by both individuals, after they made an out of court settlement.

NRI flight passengers Binoy Cherian and his wife had started quarrelling with Ranjini asking her why she had jumped the queue for immigration. According ro Ranjini, she had tried explaining to them that she had not jumped the queue, but the abused her, even used expletives.

Ranjini Haridas later filed a case against the man at the Nedumbassery police station. Things became complicated when Binoy’s wife also filed a complaint against Ranjini.

The issue became a much debated one in Kerala with many blaming Ranjini for her high handedness, but tables turned when Ranjini came out with her version.

Ranjini had then written in Kochipost recounting her version, “All the other passengers behaved all right but Mr Binoy and his wife continued their accusation of the same raising their voice to which I raised my voice and denied the whole thing. The next thing I know Mr Binoy starts hurling abuses at me. I  kept arguing back trying to tell them I hadn’t done anything wrong but by the time Mr Binoy had gone on an attack spree aiming at my profession, family and character, which was uncalled for.”
