The post-mortem report of the thirty-year-old law student, who was killed in Perumbavoor last Thursday, revealed that she was raped and brutally killed.

Media reports have since then drawn parallels to the Nirbhaya gang-rape of Delhi, pointing out that the Dalit woman who was found dead at her home last Thursday, had thirty wounds on her body. According to the post-mortem report, the victim’s intestines had come out, as she was attacked by a sharp object.

The victim suffered stab wounds on her chest, chin, neck and back of the head. Her chest was reportedly pierced by a sharp knife on two sides. The cause of death is believed to be a severe injury to her head.

As more details of the heinous manner in which the victim was killed emerged, social media users took to Facebook in protest. Using the hashtag Justice for Jisha, the users expressed their agitation on poor media coverage of the crime and the delay in nabbing the culprits, even after a week since the incident.

Some users also lashed out at the government for not providing safe living conditions for its citizens, let alone the women of the state.

As assembly elections is just around the corner, many users have cautioned politicians to reap political advantage out of the incident.

A series of posters are doing rounds on Facebook, that takes a dig on the police and the politicians alike.
