The Badiadka police in Kasargod district of Kerala has filed a case under various non-bailable sections against Sadhvi Saraswati, the president of Sanatan Dharma Prachar Seva Samiti and a Hindutva hardliner.

Sadhvi Saraswati who hails from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh made a controversial speech at the 'Virat Hindu convention' in Badiadka last Friday.

Asking men to gift swords to their sisters so that they could behead those who trap women in the name of ‘love jihad’, she said, “You give your sisters jewellery, clothes and other gifts. From today, give her a sword as a gift, so that if any love jihad dares to look at your sister, then she gets the courage to behead him and offer his head to Mother India.”

A case was filed under IPC section 295 A (intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 153 (a) (promotes religious disharmony), and section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. The case was filed based on a complaint filed by Noufal, a resident of Kasargod.

Not just about the ‘love jihad’ bogey but the Sadhvi had made other controversial remarks too in her speech. She condemned those who had organized beef parties in Kerala and said such people have no right to live in India.

'Gau Mata' (cows) was killed and beef party organised in Kerala, though she is respected the world over. Such slaughterers have no right to live in India...," she said.

The programme was attended by thousands of people in Kerala and videos from it have been going viral ever since.

According to the Indian Express, she said in Hindi, “Aapki kalai pe aapki behen rakhi bandhti hai. Aap isko uphaar mein kapde, gehne mithaiyan, jo bhi dete hai, uske saath saath apni behen ko uphar mein ek gift ke roop mein ek talwar bhi zarur aaj se de dena. Taaki koi bhi love jihadi aapki behen ke taraf aankh uthake dekhen toh aapki behen uska gala kaatke maa bharti ke charnon pe sambhalne ki taakat rakh sake.”
