Amid allegations over the delay in nabbing the culprits, a police officer was removed from the investigation team in Jisha rape and murder.

According to reports, Perumbavoor DySP Anil Kumar has been removed from the investigation team. Crime Detachment DySP AB Jijimon will be in-charge of the investigation team from now on. The decision came late on Wednesday night, in the wake of no definite progress in the probe.

Though several suspects were taken into custody, the police have been unable to nab the culprit a week after the incident.

The investigation team of 28 includes three DySP rank officers and five circle inspectors. Some reports also suggest that Anil Kumar will continue in the team, with the new officer in-charge.
