A day after 65-year-old Sheeluamma was killed and partly eaten by around 50 stray dogs in Thiruvananthapuram, a self-proclaimed hackers group that goes by the name Kerala Cyber Warriors has hacked into the website of an animal welfare organization.

Two pages of People for Animals’ website of which Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi is the Chairperson has been hacked into, an update on their Facebook page on Sunday claims.

The group has demanded a stray dogs free India in the wake of the incident.

The 'articles' and 'NGO' sections of the website now bears a message informing about the hack, along with a clipping of a news report about Sheeluamma’s tragic death.

A message left on the page reads:

“Apparently there were no "Trees to climb" !!! This poor defenseless 65 years old lady mauled to death by 50 stray dogs.”

The same group has also hacked into a number of Pakistan and Bangladesh websites in the past.

Sheeluamma’s death on Friday night has since sparked outrage among the locals, as they blamed the city authorities for her death.

Her death has once again provided fuel to the on-going demands by many residents to exterminate dangerous stray dogs, as stray dog menace is reported to be on a rise in the state.
