Kerala Hindu Aikya Vedi President Sasikala, who is known for her alleged hate speeches now finds herself in the dock, as a case has been lodged against her.

The case has been filed by Kasaragod, Hosdurg police under Sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion) and 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings).

The case was registered based on a complaint by a government pleader C. Shukkur. Sasikala’s speeches could create communal tension in the state, the complainant has alleged. Shukkur has also submitted a few CDs containing the purported ‘hate speeches’ by Sasikala.

Kasaragod district police chief Thomson Jose told media that the case was registered on Thursday after verifying the details submitted by the complainant.

Sasikala’s speeches were widely criticised in the social media over their highly provocative and communal content.

In some of her speeches, she has said that Muslims marry because it was cheaper than going to a brothel. While she was talking about Muslim women's early marriages, she explained that Muslim women mature early may be because, "Ordinary mango trees will give fruits only after 14 years. But a cross cultured breed mango tree will bear fruit within three years".

Her comment terming Muslim women 'cross cultured breeds', created a huge uproar in the social media.

In many speeches, she has alleged that most of the mosques in Kerala exist on land freely donated by Hindus.

She has also provoked Hindus by reminding them about the Babri Masjid issue.

"You know what will happen if we show our real face. Though there were 700 police and 70,000 army men guarding, Hindus united and destroyed the Masjid. If Hindus wake up, this would be the result," she says reminding that all mosques are built on Hindu land.

Her speech against Mother Theresa was also controversial. She alleged that "Mother Teresa has come here to convert Hindus. She doesn’t have to worry about our (Hindus) poverty. We will take care of this. She did not aim at charity, she aimed at the crores of money which have come from abroad. Hindus need to wake up, they should be aware."

Almost all her speeches have similar controversial elements. She has also been referred to as ‘Kerala Thogadia’ in social media platforms.

However, Sasikala has denied the accusations against her. “I have not made any hate speeches. I just spoke against religious discrimination. You can’t threaten me by this case. I will not stop my speeches,” she told media.
