Mani also said that Speaker gave enough time to George to explain his position

Kerala Congress Mani group KC(M) and state Finance Minister K M Mani have said that the party’s rebel leader and former Chief Whip PC George's plan to resign his MLA  post was due to the fear of disqualification for "anti-party" activities.

Mani told media on Thursday that George’s plan to resign showed that he had certain apprehensions about the verdict of the Assembly Speaker on the petition by the party seeking his disqualification, Manoramaonline reports.

Mani also alleged that the Speaker gave enough time to George to explain his position and George did not act accordingly.

The petition seeking disqualification of George from MLA post was filed by KC(M) for alleged anti-party activities and was pending before Speaker N Sakthan.

George was removed from the post of Government Chief Whip after he openly challenged Mani and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in many issues including the Bar scam.
