More trouble for Dileep: Will reclaim D Cinemas land if grabbing allegation proven, says govt

The trouble for Malayalam actor Dileep just seems to have begun.

Days after the actor was arrested for conspiring and plotting the abduction and rape of a woman actor over personal enmity, allegations of land-grabbing have now cropped up against the actor. Amidst the frenzy in the state over his arrest, a government department has submitted a report stating that there are lapses in a land deal.  A minister has said that the government will take action if the land-grab allegations were proven.

In a report submitted by the Land Revenue Commissioner of the Kerala government, it has been pointed out that there were lapses in the part of the Thrissur District Administration in clearing the land for constructing D Cinemas, a cineplex owned by Dileep.

Allegations of land encroachment for building the multiplex have been existing for a while, but the allegations are now gaining more attention after the details of the report were made public.

Minister VS Sunilkumar on Sunday said in Thiruvananthapuram that the government will reclaim the land if the allegations are proved to be right.

"The government will not entertain land grabs by any one," said the minister. "The government had ordered an inquiry and the revenue minister has also sought action," Sunilkumar said.

In a complaint which was filed earlier, Santhoh, a native of Aluva in Thrissur, said that the land was allocated to Chalakkudy Sreedharamangalam Sree Krishna temple for building Oottupura, but Dileep took hold of it to build the theatre multiplex. He managed to get hold of the land by creating three different title deeds in 2005, reports  Mathrubhumi Online.

District Collector Thrissur MS Jaya had submitted a report favouring Dileep on the complaint. The complainant had later approached the High Court. The High Court had directed the Land Revenue Commissioner for hearing.

The Commissioner ordered a detailed enquiry, in which the complainant alleged that no action was taken.
