With reports hinting at his involvement in the abduction and alleged sexual assault of a popular Malayalam actress, actor Dileep sought to clear the air and filed a complaint with the DGP on Friday.

In his complaint, he mentioned that his name was unnecessarily dragged into the case.

“The reports which appeared in certain online media were aimed at defaming me,” he said.

It is learnt that the actor called up the DGP and personally briefed him about the damage caused to his image due to the baseless allegations.

Dileep’s complaint comes amid speculation doing the rounds that he was backing the prime accused Pulsar Suni, since he had a personal grudge against the actress.

The actor clarified on Thursday in a Facebook post that he has not been probed by the police and any reports to the contrary were plain rumours.

He added that he wasn’t even called over the phone by the police for any interrogation.

However, the office of the DGP has said that no complaint has been received.

Meanwhile, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Ernakulam has asked the police to hand over Pulsar Suni and another accused Vijeesh, to the Nedumbassery police, under whose jurisdiction the case was registered.
