A right-wing Hindu group ‘Hindu Sena’ threw ink and lubricants at Engineer Rashid, an independent MLA from Jammu and Kashmir on Monday at the Delhi Press Club afternoon for hosting a beef party in the MLA’s hostel in Srinagar a fortnight ago.

Two people have been arrested by the police in connection to the incident.

This is the second incident in two weeks after Rashid was assaulted by BJP MLAs on the floor of the assembly after on the following day he hosted the party.

Following the incident of a truck driver set ablaze over rumors of him killing cows in Udhampur district by a mob hurling petrol bombs at his truck, Rashid was in the capital to address the media as the truck driver finally died in Delhi’s Safdargunj Hospital on Sunday.

Speaking to the electronic media, Rashid told, “This is Modi’s India, not Gandhi’s India.”

He added, “They say Pakistan has been taken over by Taliban but look what’s happening here.”

This incident comes in the backdrop of three people being killed over rumors of cow slaughter or consuming beef and Himachal Pradesh CM being quoted in a newspaper saying Muslims living in India have to give up consuming beef.
