It’s one of the deadliest terror attacks the country has witnessed. Pakistan-based terror outfit, Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility for the attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, which claimed the lives of 44 CRPF soldiers on Thursday. The attack was executed by a suicide bomber, Adil Ahmad Dar, who is reported to be a native of Pulwama. As anger brews across the country, some people have resorted to shifting the blame onto ordinary Kashmiris who had nothing to with the attack on CRPF jawans. At this volatile time, a grieving CRPF has risen above the hate to lead the way to love, respect and harmony in the country.

A CRPF Twitter handle, @CRPFmadadgaar, has opened a toll-free number and SMS portal to assist any Kashmiri facing any harassment or difficulties in the aftermath of the attack. “#Kashmiri students and general public, presently out of #kashmir can contact @CRPFmadadgaar on 24x7 toll free number 14411 or SMS us at 7082814411 for speedy assistance in case they face any difficulties/harrasment,” a tweet from the handle said.

At a time when there have been calls for violence to avenge the deaths of the jawans, CRPF has also slammed all hate mongering.

“ADVISORY: It has been noticed that on social media some miscreants are trying to circulate fake pictures of body parts of our Martyrs to invoke hatred while we stand united. Please DO NOT circulate/share/like such photographs or posts,” the official handle of the CRPF said.

The CRPF’s mature push for non-violence and peace has not gone unnoticed.

On Saturday, the Centre issued an advisory to all states to ensure the safety and security of Kashmiri people following threats. The Jammu and Kashmir police, too, has established a helpline to assist students and others facing threats.

“J&K #Police has established a #helpline for the #assistance of #Students/#generalpublic who are presently staying outside J&K in case they find any difficulty. You can call us for any kind of assistance on 0194-2451515,” a tweet said.

Some have opened their doors to Kashmiris facing threats and have offered to keep them safe.

Some joined the CRPF in requesting the public to stop attacking the Kashmiri natives.

Former IAS officer and the Director of School Education, Kashmir, Shah Faesal, said, “Kashmiris are not the demons they are made out to be. Kashmiris have been unequivocally condemning the loss of life in Kashmir. An ordinary Kashmiri is a victim of violence rather than a perpetrator of violence. Targeting them outside is really really sad and unacceptable.”
