The National Security Guard (NSG) has said that it is planning to deploy its women commandos in anti-terror operations.

Officials of the NSG said that its woman commandos, who already handle critical duties like providing VIP security and high security drills, are combat ready for high-risk assignments including terror attacks, reported The Times of India.

Commandos of the NSG, also known as "Black Cats", had killed Lashkar-e-Toiba fidayeen in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

The Indian Express quotes NSG DG RC Tayal as saying, “Women commandos have gone through the same training as men, and can perform any task under the mandate of NSG. We are planning combat roles for them.”
