AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi, on Monday, threatened to take legal action against the online news portal, Janta Ka Reporter, and Abhinav Budhiraja of the Aam Aadmi Party for alleging that Owaisi and BJP President Amit Shah had colluded before the Bihar elections to stir communal tension.

Abhinav Budhiraja, who manages digital media for the Aam Aadmi Party, had tweeted a screenshot of the controversial letter published by Janta Ka Reporter, which Owaisi called AAP’s ‘mouthpiece’.

The news portal challenged Owaisi to either own up or deny the allegations of the letter and added that it would carry his response with equal prominence.

The letter which carried these allegations is addressed to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and is from Yatin Oza, a former BJP MLA and current AAP member.

Oza, senior advocate and President of the Gujarat High Court Advocates Association, said in the letter that a meeting took place between BJP leader Amit Shah and Owaisi at 3 pm on September 15 where it was decided that “Shri Owaisi will vomit poisonous communal speech the script of which shall be written by Shri Amit Shah, which may have potentiality to result into communal divide in the society.”

Oza also claims in the letter that he saw Vijay Rupani of BJP and Akbaruddin Owaisi of AIMIM meet and shake hands at the Delhi airport. “Conversation between them to a layman would make him believe beyond reasonable doubt that they are old buddies,” Oza alleges in the letter.

Oza wrote the letter to Kejriwal on July 4 purportedly to expose instances of corruption in Gujarat’s BJP government. He also added that the BJP was “siphoning off funds from the state exchequer for personal gains”.
