Alongside the Indian cricket team, which is in England for the Cricket World Cup, actor Ranveer Singh is also in London to shoot for the upcoming sports drama film ‘83, based on India's historic 1983 Cricket World Cup win.

On Sunday, the actor turned fanboy when he met cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar, Vivian Richards, Shane Warne and Sunil Gavaskar.

"God of cricket! Sachin Tendulkar @83thefilm @kabirkhankk #83squad," Ranveer captioned an image shared on social media.

The actor, who will be seen playing the role of former cricketer Kapil Dev in the Kabir Khan directorial, had also shared photographs of himself along with Vivian Richards, Shane Warne and Sunil Gavaskar.

‘83 will trace India's historic victory at the 1983 cricket World Cup. It also stars Saqib Saleem, Harddy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Pankaj Tripathi and Tahir Raj Bhasin among others.

The shooting for the film began on May 28 and the crew will be in London and Glasgow during the summer when the Cricket World Cup is taking place in England. The music for the film has been composed by Pritam Chakraborty.

Indian cricket fans fondly remember the year 1983 as it was the first time India won the Cricket World Cup. Led by Kapil Dev, the Indian team was heralded for a fearless brand of cricket and eventually defeated West Indies in the final. Kapil led from the front in the World Cup smashing a memorable 175 in the game against Zimbabwe in which he single-handedly rescued India from a position of peril at 17/5.

Despite the absence of the television to relay minute-by-minute pictures of the tournament, India's World Cup win gave a significant boost to the game in the sub-continent.
