The Prime Minister is in Chennai for a few hours to attend the Defence Expo 2018 and inaugurate four facilities at the Adyar Cancer Institute. The visit has been a security nightmare for the police with protesters lining up near the Chennai airport and other roads carryong black flags and placards saying, 'Go back Modi'.

Protesters climbed a large hoarding outside Chennai airport to shout slogans against PM Modi. Incidentally, the PM will not be travelling by road in Chennai, instead he will touch down at all locations in a helicopter.

On Twitter too, hundreds tweeted against the PM. #GoBackModi was the top trend worldwide with more than 1,30,000 tweets at noon. The tweets kept coming with people pouring out their anger on the centre's delay in forming the Cauvery Management Board.

This is reminiscent of when Kerala Twitterati made #PoMoneModi trend when he compared the infant mortality rate among Scheduled Tribes in Kerala to that of Somalia's. The phrase 'Po Mone Modi' translates to Go back, Modi.
