Telugu actor and Bigg Boss title winner Shiva Balaji filed a police complaint in Hyderabad on Sunday on behalf of his wife, actor Madhumita, after she allegedly received abusive messages on her Facebook account.

“The case has been booked under relevant sections of IT Act and investigation is going on to trace the identity of the suspects, ” said Cyberabad DCP, Janaki Sharma to Telangana Today.

This is not the first instance, where the couple were harassed online. Earlier too, when Shiva Balaji took a selfie from the sets of ‘Katamarayudu’ and posted it on Facebook, he received abusive comments, following which he approached the police.

A senior official told TT that they were trying to recover the IP address through which they could track down the accused’s.

Madhumita (Swapna Madhuri) has worked in both Tamil and Telugu films. Shiva and Madhumita got married in 2009.

Similarly, in another online harassment case, in June, another woman actor from the Sandalwood industry, actor Sangeetha Bhat, received lewd messages. Although, she didn’t file a police complaint. She took to Facebook to call out the harassment she faced online.
