Due to the ongoing protests over the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) at railway stations in West Bengal, a section of train services from south India to the state has been disrupted.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, cleared by the two Houses of Parliament and signed by the President, is now known as the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 or CAA. The agitations over the implementation of CAA, which has been brewing in parts of the country, had turned intense in West Bengal and parts of North Eastern states. The disruption of train services is because of the agitations at Sankrail, Maurigram, Bankra Nayabaj and Nalpur stations in Howrah-Kharagpur railway section of South Eastern Railway.

The Railway authorities have fully cancelled the Howrah-Ernakulam Antyodaya Express (22877) that was scheduled to leave on Saturday from Howrah in West Bengal to reach Ernakulam Junction railway station. • Howrah-Hyderabad East Coast Express (18645)
  • Howrah-Pune Duronto Express (12847)
  • Howrah-Mumbai CSMT Gitanjali Express (2860)

The authorities have also partially cancelled the service of Kanniyakumari - Howrah Super Fast Express (12666).
