It’s one thing to be a good employee, another to always be on the job. In journalism, you don't get an option - you’re always on the job. A Pakistani journalist went on to prove this by reporting on his own wedding.
Yep, you read that right.
In a viral video, Hanan Bukhari, a journalist with Pakistan’s City 41 channel, can be seen holding a mic as if it's any regular day at work. Only thing, he's dressed in wedding attire.
Hanan goes on to talk about his love marriage and how happy he is, as if reeling off statistics about a cricket match.
“My family members and I are very happy today. Because it is a love marriage, my wife is happy, and so are her family members. My parents present here have gone to lengths and made arrangements to make this day come true," Hanan said on camera.
It only gets better. He then goes on to interview his father and asks him what he has to say about the wedding. As if this were a panel discussion. His dad says that he thanks god for giving him the opportunity to get his son married.
The icing on the cake, however, is when he interviews his wife, calling himself her 'Majnu'. He then asks her what she has to say about her marriage to him, on her wedding day.
“I’ve put in so much effort. I’ve brought sports cars and heavy bikes to decorate my wedding procession as the entire city was watching," he says. Then, he proceeds to ask her what she thinks about all the things he has brought.
His wife, for her part, was quite the sport, playing along and answering that she was indeed very happy to be getting married to him!

The Internet, understandably, was in splits.

Some people, however, took his side. One even called him a “Pakistani treasure”.
The City 41 reporter covering his own wedding is a postmodern Pakistani treasure. He proudly shares his big day.
