In light of the Jisha rape incident, Malayalam and Tamil actor Priyamani earned the ire of her followers for a bunch of tweets.

While Actor Dulquer Salmaan tweeted the same, he didn’t receive as much anger as the actor did. She was called insensitive for “blaming India”, with twitter trolls asking her to leave the country.

Some termed her publicity hungry to promote her latest film, some demanded she withdraw her statement. Some accused her of being another ‘Aamir Khan’ in reference to the comment he made on intolerance, costing him his Incredible India ambassador status. Trolls even pulled out pictures of her in a bikini to say she had no right to make statements on safety for having done certain roles. She followed it up with two more clarifying tweets.
