DMK chief and former Tamil Nadu CM M Karunanidhi's continues to remain under medical supervision at the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai's Alwarpet. On Monday morning, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam visited the DMK patriarch at the hospital.

On Sunday night, supporters from several parts of Tamil Nadu gathered outside the hospital. Earlier that afternoon, the DMK had released a picture of Karunanidhi from the hospital. His family, doctors, party and well-wishers had been relieved that he was responding better to medication.

Despite heavy rains, there was a steady growth of crowd of Kalaingar’s followers who gathered in prayers and hope for the 94-year-old’s recovery.
