The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Monday filed a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana against controversial BJP Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh for allegedly making threatening remarks against Chandrayangutta MLA and the party president’s brother Akbaruddin Owaisi, while giving an interview to a national TV channel.

The BJP leader, infamous for his alleged hate speeches, told  India Today, “I have challenged Akbaruddin Owaisi multiple times that you leave your security cover, I will leave mine. Give me five minutes, and if your head is not under my foot. I will not be called Raja Singh anymore.”

Not stopping there, Singh further went on to threaten that he would banish an “anti-national” like Akbaruddin from India, if BJP comes to power. In this interview, Singh used some derogatory words against Akbaruddin and also claimed that he doesn’t need the votes of Muslim who eat beef and hurt his ‘sentiments’.

Attaching the video link of Singh’s outrageous remarks, the AIMIM wrote to the CEO seeking necessary action against him for promoting enmity between different classes, which also is an electoral offence; and for his remarks against Muslims, the party wrote, “Raja Singh’s statement that Muslims who consume beef should refrain from voting for him is in contravention of Section 123 (3a).”

Under Section 123 (3a), Representation of the People Act 1951: “Promotion of, or attempt to promote, feelings of enmity or hatred between different classes of the citizens of India on grounds of religion, race, caste, community, or language, by a candidate or his agent or any other person with the consent of a candidate or his election agent for the furtherance of the prospects of the election of that candidate or for prejudicially affecting the election of any candidate” is deemed as ‘corrupt’ practice.

A few days ago, Raja Singh also said that he would change the name of Hyderabad to ‘Bhagyanagar’ if the BJP comes to power in Telangana.

As per the latest affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, 43 cases were filed against Singh, which includes murder.
