Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday accused the BJP of practicing vendetta politics by conducting IT raids against him, for expressing dissent against the Centre.

The JSP chief had a brief interaction with the media on Wednesday at Hyderabad, where he expressed that he felt betrayed and that the BJP had used and dumped him after the 2014 general elections.

Pawan Kalyan had supported the BJP-TDP alliance in the 2014 elections.

During the interaction, he said that the TDP and YSRCP were not agitating strongly in the Parliament for the cause of Special Category Status (SCS) to the state fearing a witch-hunt by the Centre.

“I am not afraid of any cases,” Pawan Kalyan said.

Opining that the struggle by the political parties against the Centre lacks public involvement, he said that a Joint Action Committee (JAC) should be set up to lead the SCS movement.

He said that the struggle should be like the Telangana agitation and the Gujjar protest.

Slamming both TDP and YSRCP, he said that the party’s respective MPs should have resigned long ago in protest against the Centre’s arrogance. He reiterated that the state’s struggle against the injustice meted out to it should involve the people.

Referring to the BJP, which promised to accord the SCS as per the AP Reorganisation Act, he lamented, “Even mafia sticks to their words, but politicians do not.”

Reacting to Congress President Rahul Gandhi joining the protests for SCS in the Parliament on Tuesday, he said that the Congress is trying to correct its mistakes.

Pawan also said that he will announce his party’s stand in the 2019 general elections in a week during the party meeting, which will be held on March 14.
